Why I think my reflection feedback system works... (continued from my 525 wiki page)
I think this method has successfully given students the opportunity to understand the expectations of the reflective writing, while holding them to improving their written response. Those students who do not perform well in their written communication are encouraged to use a word processor and the spell check and grammar check features. All students are encouraged to have someone review their writing prior to submission. Occasional peer editing exercises help the students prepare to help each other in addition to gaining the peer feedback.

Advantages: contains ready-made rubrics categorized type; pre-made forms are available

Disadvantage: need internet access; forms may be limiting


Spreadsheet
Advantage: readily available; more creative liberties

Disadvantage: can be complicated to use

Advantage: true/false, multiple choice questions are easily created using a form; no peripheral hardware is required

Disadvantage: need internet access; subscription required


Classroom Response Systems
Advantage: easy to set up and use; data appears in real time

Disadvantage: requires additional, expensive hardware


Surveys
Survey Monkey
Advantage: multiple reports available; can be administered over a period of time

Disadvantage: does not work well for large groups and immediate user feedback situations


Poll Everywhere
Advantage: immediate feedback available for large groups; utilizes cell phone technology or computers

Disadvantage: does not compile data in a printable, consolidated report



Other

Microsoft Word
Advantage: comments are easily inserted; does not require internet access

Disadvantage: requires common storage or email to share; requires software


Email
Advantage: easily shared; immediate reply possible

Disadvantage: commenting not as efficient or clear; requires an account
